Knot's Landing is an American prime time soap opera that aired in the US between 1979 and 1993. A spin-off of Dallas, it was set in a fictitious coastal suburb of Los Angeles and initially centred on the lives of four married couples living on a cul-de-sac, Seaview Circle. Throughout its 14-year run, storylines included marital strife, rape, murder, kidnapping, assassinations, drug smuggling, politics, addictions, environmental issues, corporate intrigue, and criminal investigations.
The series premiered in the UK, on BBC1, on April 26, 1980.
The theme music was composed by Jerrold Immel, who also wrote the theme for Dallas. In the UK, the theme tune was released on December 12, 1980 as the b-side of the Dallas single, recorded by the Frank Barber Orchestra on BBC Records. Earlier in the year, a version by the Bobby Patrick Band was also released, on Monza.
On June 13, 1980 there was also a version by pianist Floyd Cramer, with a version of the Dallas theme on the a-side.
Kung Fu is an American action-adventure martial arts Western drama television series starring David Carradine that ran between 1972 and 1975. The series follows the adventures of Kwai Chang Caine, a Shaolin monk who travels through the American Old West, armed only with his spiritual training and his skill in martial arts, as he seeks Danny Caine, his half-brother.
The pilot episode debuted on Anglia Television in January 1973 but first appeared in the London region on September 9, 1973. The TV show's theme tune, "Caine's Theme" did not appear until the first episode of the first series, "King Of The Mountain", which debuted in London on September 16, 1973.
Given the success of Kung Fu's first season, Warner Bros. Records released internationally in December 1973 a "concept album" of dialogue and music from the show, based on the pilot and the first nine episodes; "Caine's Theme" was also released as a single on March 22, 1974 (in the UK). The record used an expanded 45-piece orchestra for the musical selections and a group of eight musicians for the incidental music underscoring dialogue taken from the Shaolin temple sequences.
