The Isley Brothers are an American soul group that began in 1954 as trio of singing brothers. The inclusion of younger brothers Ernie and Marvin, and Rudolph's brother-in-law Chris Jasper, in 1973 turned them into a complete band and led to the group's reaching the height of their success. The band splintered in 1983 and O'Kelly died in 1986. Rudolph and Ronald continued as a duo until 1989.
