The final line-up, 1971-72 (L-R) Roy Wood, Bev Bevan and Jeff Lynne
The Move were an English rock band formed in 1965. Roy Wood was the band leader and main songwriter. After singer Carl Wayne left in January 1970, Jeff Lynne agreed to join as second guitarist and pianist, enthused by Wood's Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) idea, which he had been planning since 1968. The band also included co-founder Bev Bevan and bassist Rick Price.
Price was edged out of the band and Lynne, Wood and Bevan were forced to make a fourth Move album when they preferred to get ELO going. Their new three-album deal included two by the new band.
